How to Play UNO Attack

UNO Attack brings an aggressive twist to the classic UNO card game. Instead of simply matching cards, players can also “attack” each other by making opponents draw cards as penalty. This Results in a faster-paced, more competitive version of UNO.

Uno Attack Card Game

Overall, UNO Attack adds a competitive element that results in faster and more strategic gameplay. The ability to “attack” opponent’s hands forces players to think more critically about the cards in their hand and when to deploy special cards versus going on the offense.

Rules for Playing UNO Attack:

The Deck and Deal

Use a standard UNO deck. Shuffle the Uno Attack Cards and deal 7 cards face-down to each player. The remainder forms the draw pile. The player to the left of the dealer goes first and follow the Uno attack gameplay rules.

Playing Cards

On your turn, you must either:

  1. Play a card that matches the color or symbol of the discard pile
  2. Attack another player by making them draw 2 cards
  3. Play a Wild Draw 4 card to attack and make any player draw 4 cards.

Special Action Cards

Wild and Skip cards work the same, allowing the player to choose the next color and skip their next turn.

Reversing the Direction

Reverse cards change the direction of play (clockwise to counterclockwise and vice versa).

When to Attack

Players can attack at any time on their turn instead of matching a card. However, you cannot attack during the same turn you were attacked.

Winning the Game

The first player to get rid of all their cards by matching or attacking wins.

Uno Attack Gameplay Tips

Be strategic about when to attack. Catch opponents when they’re unable to match!

Save special cards like skips and wilds since you cannot attack the turn you play them.

If attacked, try to quickly match a card to get your turn back and retaliate.

UNO Attack is sure to liven up your game night with laughter, rivalry and trash talk. So shuffle up the deck, hydrate, and get ready for an aggressive yet fun new twist on the classic UNO card game!

Conclusion

UNO Attack takes the classic UNO gameplay and adds a competitive element by allowing players to “attack” each other and make opponents draw cards. This results in a faster-paced, more strategic version of UNO where players must think critically not only about matching cards, but also about strategically attacking at the right time.

While the basic rules of UNO Attack remain, the added offensive capabilities give players greater agency and force them to plan more turns in advance. UNO Attack is perfect for groups that enjoy friendly competition, trash talk and a more aggressive take on the classic UNO card game.

FAQs

Can you attack on the same turn you draw cards from an attack?

No, players cannot attack during the same turn they were attacked or had to draw cards. This helps prevent “attack chains”.

Can you attack when you have no cards to match?

Yes, attacking is always an available option on your turn in addition to matching a card.

Can special cards like Wilds or skips be used to attack?

Yes, any card in a player’s hand can be used to attack instead of matching the discard pile.

Any strategy tips for UNO Attack?

Save special cards like skips and Wilds since you cannot attack the turn you play them. Try to attack when opponents have fewer cards and options to match.
